What a great place! We were six friends traveling together across the country and had heard Eddie's was popular with locals so we stopped in. The Cowboy steaks were wonderful, everything else top notch! The home made peppermint ice cream was to die for. Better yet was the friendly, efficient service. Truly wonderful people. All in all a wonderful night (written by a tough New Yorker). You can't go wrong eating here.

I was just blasting through the 'Last Best Place' heading to a new life in The Middle (you know it's the middle when the Zip Codes starts with 5) and was reminded of a Montana Institution. It must have been pre-Yelp because I fer sure would have five-starred this place in a heartbeat. It's been a while since I ate at Eddy's but it can't have changed much in the past few years since it clearly hadn't changed in the 50 years before. This place goes back to a time when men sat in rooms drinking whiskey, smoking cigars and eating steak. Women, respectable women, were not encouraged or tolerated. They had a family section, separated from the men's club portion, if women and children needed to eat there but, this wasn't meant to be a 'Family Dining' establishment. Of course, today, everyone is welcome. I mentioned steak. Steaks for the ladies start at 18oz. The men's portions went up to 40+ oz. We were visiting one of our spawn, who was working in Great Falls helping to elect the current junior Senator of Big Sky Country. I had heard of the 'club', I knew the young lad wasn't buying himself much steak so S.U. and I grabbed him for a quick 'bite'. Maybe I should say a couple of dozen big mouthfuls. My 36oz ribeye was everything you could ever want from a cut of beef. Marbled, flavorful, local grown. All I remember was the look on Boy's face as he made short work of more than two pounds of steak. His mothers look of disbelief and astonishment was priceless. I didn't have time to stop for a taste of the beeves on this trip. It was a 'pedal to the metal' 22h drive from Beef country to Cheese country and heavy eating makes you drowsy but, I savored the memory of my night at Eddy's and encourage anyone traveling through to check out this authentic piece of old Montana dining.

This place seems to be hit or miss. For me it was ... interesting. First of all, anyone who complains about the decor needs to be slapped until they have some way of developing appropriate expectations. Second, it's a charming throw-back to a previous era that is rare and getting rarer. I mean, there's an elderly couple in the lounge performing music for money. Where else are you gonna see something like that? The food was so-so. I had the campfire New York that was cooked and seasoned properly. It also had a nice smoky flavor from the wood fire. The quality of the meat was middling, as I assumed it would be. My friend had the "Broasted" chicken, which he enjoyed very much, and some kind of pasta, which he said was "meh." I castigated him for ordering pasta in the first place. Our waitress was new to the restaurant and new to the business, but she was nice enough. Looking around the place a number of people were having the hamburgers, which were enormous. Maybe I'll come back next time I'm in town and try one without the bun. I say, give this place a shot!

The best kept secret in Great Falls. Best food, drinks, staff, and piano bar in town.

We went into the bar as we were meeting someone . There was not a soul in there so we weren't sure if it was open, but someone did stick their head in and said they would be right in to help us. We ordered two beers and after that we were completely ignored. The bartender was too concerned with cleaning all the liquor bottles and glasses and even when she walked by us she didn't ask if we needed anything. Our guest arrived and she took his order, but ignored us. Finally we had to ask her for another round. I asked for an appetizer menu, and she was confused by this but did bring a dinner menu, but never checked back to see if we wanted anything.....so we left! She was very nice, but just not attentive.

Eddie's Supper Club was a very pleasant surprise. The place looked a little like a strip club on the outside and like a joint straight out of Tony Sopranos on the inside but the food was very good. The salad was delicious. I tried the homemade green goddess dressing and it was excellent. The campfire style rib eye was a delicious large cut of beef that was cooked to perfection. The baked potato came to the table piping hot with a nice sour cream topping on the side. You just can't beat a good steak and baked potato!

Although I've been reluctant to try Eddie's Supper Club due to it's run-down cinderblock exterior, I decided it deserved a fighting chance. BIG MISTAKE. The inside of the restaurant is split into three areas: the Lounge, the Supper Club, and the Coffee Shop. None of the three have been updated since the 60's (wood paneling, lame faded artwork, duct-taped booths, etc.). Oh, and the servers all wear old, baggy scrubs like you're in a nursing home or something. My wife ordered the $19 'gourmet' jumbo shrimp' and was handed FOUR overcooked shrimp and a mushy baked potato. I ordered the $25 'campfired rib eye steak' and was given a mostly inedible pile of gristle and fat, an iceberg lettuce salad mix, and a store-bought roll. I wouldn't mind paying up for a more upscale dining experience, but that's not even close to what we received. Don't waste your money here. Even with Great Falls' limited dining options, you can do much better.

Had one of the best steaks in a long time. Cooked to perfection I absolutely recommend

This dinner club opened outside the gates of the airbase in 1944 and it's kept the same Decor the same great food and most of the same customers ever since. All the campfire steaks were great as was the rack of lamb also camp fire roasted. And entire rack of lamb 8 ribs was $24. Warning, when you ask for meat rare in Montana it comes rare! The broasted chicken was also great. Drinks are large and ice cold. Live music in the piano bar is wonderful and authentic. For dessert try their homemade mint ice cream. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Great Falls.

I went here with my wife to celebrate our birthdays along with her mom (her treat!). Given the occasion we ate in the Supper Club and did not limit ourselves. I ordered a Makers Mark Manhattan (perfect!) and the rack of lamb which is "campfire style". My wife enjoyed a tenderloin, and her mother had the shrimp scampi. Everything was delicious and we will definitely go back for other occasions or when we have friends and family visit from out of town. This is our number one pick! The decor is dated and the room was much brighter than I expected. There was live music coming from the bar which added to the ambiance. We may go try the "coffee shop" sometime with the kids.

I would give it a 4.5 stars if the rating thing allowed. This place is just plain cool....old school cool. Old school steak house feel, large booths, vinyl backs, dark interior, crappy building exterior and excellent cuts of meat...

The food and service were a disaster. I went months ago and still remember this meal. I have been turned off to steak ever since. See the picture of my super bloody prime rib. The fried raviolis came out cold and tasteless. The green goddess dressing was like dyed mayo on iceberg lettuce. Had to send my meat back because it was so undercooked I couldn't even cut into it. It came back and it was still cold and terrible. The only thing edible I had was my baked potato. Fortunately the manager refunded one of our meals after we showed her the unfortunate meat. Shame to see a place like this chugging along in Great Falls while truly great places like The Breaks go out of business. I was violently ill after eating only a few bites of my dinner here. Now, on to the good thing about Eddie's: the piano bar. The night we went in they had a very good jazz trio playing. The bartender knew how to make a drink. I would visit Eddie's any time for the booze and ambiance. Recommended for drinking only!

Food was ok, ordered the Campfire Ribeye. It was cooked well (medium rare), under-seasoned. Steak quality was questionable. Don't order the salad, it's drenched in dressing, or maybe get the dressing on the side. Server was rude to me after I asked another server for the check. I will not be going back.

My experience has always been amazing. The campfire steaks, the baked potato and the green salad always delicious. The service and atmosphere are like stepping back in time. Yes it does look like a strip club from the outside but step in... you'll be glad you did.

I would kill for a burger right now. Or maybe for breakfast....

the campfire burgers are pretty good. Other than that though, the food is pretty much overpriced and tasteless. Their pasta is HORRIBLE, it taste like noodles with plain old tomato paste on it. Unless you are going for just a burger, it is not a place I would recommend.

i researched where to go in great falls and eddie's supper club came up repeatedly. check out the threads on chowhound in case you need more validation. this joint is amazing and the service was just as great as the food. like someone else wrote, it is a throwback to an era that has gone by. complete with lounge lizards, jazz music, old school serving staff that will tell you what's up and faux wood wall paneling. if you do not recognize it as the gem that it is, do not pass go, go straight to jakers, which is a corporations' idea of what a steakhouse should be. as many others have mentioned already, the campfire steaks are top notch. i had the rib eye which was superb, while my wife had the prime rib, which was even better. the sides were served first - soup (minestrone) was served in a small bowl, as was my salad which had the amazing green goddess salad dressing (made from avocados) as well as another salad dressing, which was an vinaigrette oil based dressing with blue cheese (i forget the name but I wanted to DRINK IT). i've been to peter lugers and other top notch steak houses and eddie's is right up there, no joke. ask for shirley (who was our server). she was so amazing, i hugged her after our meal!

If you're looking for a place to arrange to have an enemy knocked off, this is the perfect atmosphere! we've never, NEVER seen my friend leave a meal unfinished, but he only could put down about half of his ravioli/spaghetti plate. stay away.

This is the best steak in America. Period. Don't believe me? I've had your Peter Luger. I've had your Ruths' Chris, your Palm, your Homestead, your Arnie Mortons. I've even been to Cut. But this beats them all hands down. Try it campfire style, or go pure. And all of the salad dressings are homemade (order the green goddess!)

Best place for beef in Montana. I, as well as my three companions had prime rib which was cooked to perfection.

Eddies is an institution in Great Falls. It has more character and better ambiance than any place in town. The interior decor is straight out of the '50s. The raviollis are arguably the best in the Moutain West, and the campfire steaks are to die for. If you are looking for some great home cooking at a reasonable price, this is the place to go!

we didn't really understand the food. the atmosphere is truly something to experience, but the actual food seemed overpriced and overrated. we didn't try the steak (we are somewhat vegetarian leaning) but we've heard it is incredible. The decor is straight out of the 70s and it was a bit fun to feel like mafia henchmen. we should've opted for the less expensive coffeeshop side perhaps.
